The History of Obee's of Charlotte Harbor, FL
Obee’s of Charlotte Harbor has been in existence since 2001 and has been family owned and operated by the Perna Family (Barbara, Freddie and Dennis) since January of 2006.
Fred and Barbara Perna owned an autobody shop in New Jersey for 30 years. When they retired in 1999 they did what most northern retirees do; headed south to Florida. Barbara, however, became bored with retirement and went back to work waitressing at the Isles Café in Punta Gorda. Barbara and her husband Fred would eventually become owners of the café. After two years, they sold the café and in January of 2006 became the new owners of Obee's of Charlotte Harbor.
Sadly Fred passed away in 2016 but Obee's is still a family run business with Barbara's son Dennis DeLuca by her side slicing up your deli favorites, Robert Vogel, Arlina Romero and Barbara Bauch (not pictured) adding your sandwich fixings, Frank Curry and Dave Roberts (not pictured) delivering your Obee's favorites just the way you like them, fresh and delicious.
